The places I love to write about
There are still many places I would love to visit in our beautiful and amazing world.
And some I have lingered in that I shall never forget.
But just a few very special places have gifted me with a sense of their spirit. And those are the places where I love to set my stories.
In the countryside of southern England, where ancient oaks line twisty lanes and thatched cottages dwell alongside stately manors; where horses may outnumber cars, but London in all its busy glory beckons just an hour's commute away. My debut crime novel, A Case of Conviction, is set in the English county of Hampshire, where all is not as tranquil as it seems.
In the searing heat of stupendous Sicily, the turquoise waterways of Venice, the crazy cacophony of majestic Rome, and in the sublime kiss of an Italian twilight, hills soft in the west, sea silken to the east, as evening wends its way towards night. My second novel, Catch Me in Your Dreams is a love story set at the northern and southern extremities of Italy at a time when floods and earthquakes separate families and threaten lives, putting even the deepest love to the test.
